At King Duke’s HQ, no sooner have the plates been licked clean of turkey (and all the trimmings), we reach for our holiday sweaters, pour ourselves a large glass of eggnog and throw Elf on. And that’s just the dogs. How is it we are able to move from one holiday to the next so quickly and easily? We’re glad you asked! The answer is of course the 7 Ps: Prior Preparation Prevents Pet Parent Present Panic. And if we can do it, so can you! In anticipation of a fantastic festive season, we have created a special collection of the finest, tastiest, coziest, and, er, loudest treats, toys, and gifts, so all you need to do is sit back, relax, and take your pick.
To kick things off and set the mood just right, let’s enjoy some sensational seasonal flavors. We’re willing to bet your pack will be delighted if December 1st is marked by these delicious Crown To Tail Christmas Breakfast Crunchy Dog Treats, which we think are a pawfect way to show your pups that they were on the nice list this year. With natural bacon and maple flavors, why wait? These should be enjoyed all season long! And if you find yourself negotiating with an occasionally devilish dog - we’re looking at you, Lucy - what better way to reward their less-than-pawfect conduct with a few Lumps of Coal?! That’s right, our friends at Bocce Bakery have done it again, with snacks made with real coal which can help relieve an upset stomach, indigestion, and bad breath. Sounds pretty handy at this time of year, plus, these healthy treats contain peanut butter and molasses so they taste great too! Phew! Of course it wouldn’t be a King Dukes’ post without ice cream, and there is no finer choice on earth than the Puppy Scoops Holiday 4-Pack! It includes Christmas Cookie, Hot Carob, Peanut Butter Cookie and, er, Roast Beef flavors, and is so easy to make: just add water, mix, and freeze! Perfect for when Fou Fou Brands Frosty stops by for dessert.
Next up, holiday decorations! This year, we are hoping to discourage the pack from “helping” us trim the tree by distracting them with less destructible doodads. We are particularly taken with Andy on a Candy, which, in case you are wondering, is a-sloth-asleep-atop-a-candy-cane squeaky toy. I mean what else would it be, right? Sloths not your jam? Not a problem! How about a Naughty / Nice Cocoa Mug which is less sweet treat and more squeak treat. As with all Lulubelles toys, it is backed inside with an extra layer of durable mesh to hold up to the scrappiest canines! Bottoms up! But let’s not stop there; we also have the Frosty Fellow Reindeer and the Super Squeeze Elf. Like all Charming Pet squeakers, these are charming on the outside, tough on the inside - in fact, a bit like us when we’re unravelling the frankly ginormous tangle of lights for the tree. Pass the brandy, please.
Once the halls are suitably decked with boughs of holly, our thoughts turn to holiday fashion; we imagine yours will too. And, dear reader, our selection runs from the sublime to the gloriously ridiculous, so strap in! At the subtle end of the spectrum, why not jazz up your dog’s look with one of Huxley & Kent’s natty bow ties? With designs that range from super cute plaids to sweet snowflakes, you’re sure to find one you love. In need of something more substantial to ward off the chilly December winds? We heartily recommend the Goldpaw Portland Pullover, a close-fitting pullover style that is perfect when worn under a harness, with no adjustment needed. Great for wet weather, outdoor wear, or even indoor wear, it is especially well-suited to sight-hound type pups, and last but not least, it comes in 10 - yes 10! - sizes. That means it can accommodate a chihuahua puppy, an adult Great Dane, and everything in between. Paired with this Huxley & Kent Tartan Trapper Hat - antlers included - it makes for a compelling complete look. Happy Holidays indeed! And for the pup who wishes to make a seasonal sartorial nod, what could be better than a bright-and-fluffy Elf hat? Literally nothing is the answer, which is why we offer this green-and-red beauty in 3 sizes. Your pup will surely thank you for such a stylish topper. Last but not least, for any Rudolph-wannabes, allow us to suggest these Zippy Paws Holiday Antlers. Is it a dog? Is it a deer? We don’t know but it sure is festive!
All of this of course is preparation for the main event, and it wouldn’t be the holidays without gifts! We have a huge selection for you to choose from, and we truly love them all, but with your permission, we’ll highlight a few of our favorites. Sound okay? For the Christmas cat in your life, we love these Holiday Hanging Cat Scratchers which come in 3 designs - Snowman, Candy Cane, and Christmas Tree. Not only are they made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper, but they also come with a bonus bag of catnip, so are sure to become feline favorites. For your Hanukkah hound, we love this Collar Pinwheel. Decorated with lit menorahs, it affixes easily with velcro and comes in two sizes. Hanukkah Sameach! For pet parents, we love this oversized Soggy Doggy Super Shammywhich will keep mud and water off you, your car, your carpets, and your couch, and the matching Soggy Doggy Feeding Mat, which will contain the mayhem of even the sloppiest eaters; don’t say we don’t love you too! For pet siblings, the Kong Interactive Laser toy, which is purrfect for playing games with a Siamese sidekick!
As we close out our last post of 2021, all of us at King Duke’s would like to say a HUGE festive thank you for your support throughout the year: we love what we do and we love all of you! We wish each and every one of you the happiest and healthiest of festive seasons, filled with love, joy, and abundant squeaky toys. Chag Sameach, Happy Holidays!

Did you know that gratitude improves our physical, mental, and emotional health? And the more we allow ourselves to experience it, the greater those benefits. Fantastic! So this month, we have picked out some things that we think are especially fun, especially cute, and especially neat ways of saying thanks to our pets. We think you’ll like ‘em too!
